| My name is Jesús R. Requena. I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at USC. My main research areas are on the one hand the elucidation of the structure of the PrPSc prion, and on the other, the development of therapies for prion diseases. I was Coordinator of the prion-focused European Project "Priority" , and organized the international conference Prion2019 (www.prion2019.org). In my research group there always are research opportunities for master´s, doctoral programmes and Erasmus research visits. On a personal level, I like the work of Borges and Torrente Ballester, baroque music, travelling, and a good conversation, although, just as Severo Ochoa once said, my main hobby is biochemistry. |
